1. Introduction
TrustEdge ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Knockd platform (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it responsibly and transparently.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It applies to all users of the Service, including agency managers, administrators, and field representatives ("Reps").
By using Knockd, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions, available at knockd.au/terms.
2. Who We Are
TrustEdge (ABN 21 594 579 804) is the data controller and operator of the Knockd Service. We are based in South Australia, Australia.

3. Information We Collect
3.1 Account Information
When you register for Knockd, we collect your name, email address, and any profile details you provide. If you are invited to join a Workspace, we also collect the details associated with that invitation.
3.2 GPS and Location Data
When the Knockd app is in use, we collect precise GPS location data from Reps. This data is used to power the live map, door knock logging, and team tracking features. Location data is visible to your Workspace manager or administrator.
We only collect location data while the app is actively in use. We do not collect location data in the background when the app is closed.
3.3 Door Knock Logs
We collect data you enter when logging a door knock, including the address visited, outcome recorded (e.g. not home, signed up, declined), timestamps, and any notes you add.
3.4 Sales and Performance Data
We collect KPIs, campaign results, leaderboard data, and other performance metrics generated through your use of the Service.
3.5 Device and Usage Analytics
We collect information about the device you use to access Knockd, including device type, operating system version, app version, and in-app behaviour such as features used and session duration. This helps us maintain and improve the Service.
3.6 Payment Information
Payment information for Team Plan subscriptions is collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details. We retain transaction records (amount, date, subscription status) for billing and legal compliance purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Enable GPS tracking, door knock logging, and team management features
- Calculate billing based on peak active Rep usage
- Send transactional emails (account creation, billing receipts, support responses)
- Improve and develop the Service through usage analytics
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- Respond to support requests and enquiries
- Enforce our Terms and Conditions
We do not use your personal information for advertising or marketing to third parties.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
5.1 Australian Users
We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Our primary basis for collecting and using your information is to fulfil our contractual obligations in providing the Service to you.
5.2 UK and EU Users
For users in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, our legal bases for processing your personal data are:
- Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the Service you have signed up for
- Legitimate interests: improving the Service, preventing fraud, and ensuring security
- Legal obligation: where we are required to process data to comply with applicable law
- Consent: where you have given explicit consent, such as enabling location permissions
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only in the following circumstances:
6.1 Service Providers
We share data with the following authorised third-party providers solely to operate the Service:
- Supabase: database hosting and user authentication (supabase.com)
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription management (stripe.com)
- Mapbox: mapping, geocoding, and location visualisation (mapbox.com)
- Resend: transactional email delivery (resend.com)
- Vercel: application hosting and infrastructure (vercel.com)
Each provider is bound by their own privacy and data protection obligations.
6.2 Workspace Administrators
Your Workspace manager or administrator has access to your door knock logs, GPS location data, sales performance data, and KPIs as part of the team management features of the Service. This is a core function of the platform and you consent to this access by joining a Workspace.
6.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information where required by law, regulation, or legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of TrustEdge, our users, or the public.
6.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you via email if such a transfer occurs and this Policy changes as a result.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Account and profile data: retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- Door knock logs and performance data: retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- GPS location data: retained for 90 days on a rolling basis, then automatically deleted
- Billing and transaction records: retained for 7 years in accordance with Australian tax and financial record-keeping obligations
- Usage analytics: retained in anonymised or aggregated form after account deletion
8. Your Rights
8.1 All Users
Regardless of your location, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data via the in-app deletion feature or by emailing hello@knockd.au
- Withdraw consent for location data collection by disabling location permissions on your device
8.2 Australian Users
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to access and correct your personal information and to make a privacy complaint. To make a request or complaint, contact hello@knockd.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
8.3 UK and EU Users
Under the UK GDPR and EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following additional rights:
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): request deletion of your personal data
- Right to restriction: request that we limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@knockd.au. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority. For UK users, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8.4 California Users (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell
- Delete personal information we have collected from you
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

9. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and secure third-party infrastructure.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take prompt steps to delete such information. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, contact hello@knockd.au.
11. International Data Transfers
TrustEdge is based in Australia. Your personal information may be stored and processed in countries outside Australia, including the United States, where our third-party service providers operate. We take steps to ensure that any international transfers of personal data are made in accordance with applicable privacy laws and that appropriate safeguards are in place.
For UK and EU users, transfers outside the UK/EEA are made in accordance with applicable transfer mechanisms under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR respectively.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email to the address associated with your Account at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The updated Policy will also be published at knockd.au/privacy with a revised effective date.
